You Are In Control Of Your Life

Most people go through life making the same mistakes...over, and over again.  In many cases, people give up control of what should be their decisions...they live life day-to-day, with little or no future plans.

Why do people do this?

I really don't know, maybe because it's easy.  You've seen them every day...they sit in traffic for hours at a time...they waste time, money, and energy...they complain about a dead-end job, but never try to get the training or develop the skills to do something else.

They run the risk of living a life of regret.

Some of this I know from observation...some I know from personal experience.  Believe me, I wish I didn't have to learn this from personal experience.  You have a chance, just make the right choice...choose to take back control of your life.

The good news for you is that you probably don't belong to that group.  You're doing something to make a difference in your life.

One way to accelerate the change is to write personal goals...only 3% of Americans have written goals...but they achieve more than the other 97% combined...think about that.  Think about it in terms of wealth...the top 3% of earners, earn more than 10 times the average.  There is definitely a correlation between written goals and personal achievement.

Take some time this weekend, write out your goals...what do you want to do?  Where do you want to be in 1 year?  Think about these, but don't delay in creating your list of goals.

During the following week, take some time and pick the two or three goals that are most interesting to you.  On a clean sheet of paper, write out each goal...then try to capture the steps you need to take to achieve that goal.  You might need to have training, read a specific book, talk to someone who has already achieved that goal...whatever, just write it down.

By the next weekend you should have a basic outline for two or three goals...time to refine these even more.  Now that you've had time to think about these, start creating a timeline...take out your calendar and put dates down beside each step in your outline.

You will probably notice that the two or three big goals you created will be competing for your time...this exercise will force you to rank these goals in order of importance.

Take your new dated outlines and add the specific steps to a calendar...it doesn't have to be your Outlook calendar, or a special project program...you just need to set up something visual that will remind you.

If you start missing goals, you should feel it in the pit of your stomach...time to get back on track.  Either increase your productivity, or change the dates...but whatever you do, DO NOT STOP PROGRESSING TO YOUR GOAL.

You can win, you can make enormous changes in your life using this technique.  I know it sounds simple, but it is tremendously powerful.  Try it for two weeks and you'll see what I mean.

Some people will laugh at this short letter.  That's okay...they're the one's still working at dead end jobs...while you and I work from home.

Best Wishes, and Good Luck.
